Fake News about Jennifer Anderson having Brad Pitt’s baby got me thinking about the role of woman in society. When chatting about this with my friends the other day, I pointed out that there are no strong female leads any more (Bridge Jones and Carrie Bradshaw feel like a generation ago). One wise owl pointed out to me that there isn’t just one single role model for us today, but 1000s upon 1000s 😳😳😳 Some have kids, some do not. Some are single mums, some are young entrepreneurs, others are writers and podcasters, others campaigners – or even yoga teachers (mine are amazing). Lots of women are all the above. It’s great we live in a day where there are so many women around us doing their thing – and it doesn’t matter that they have different lives to us. Instagram is an amazing platform for that – despite all its flaws. So today I nominate the following as my role models – some I know well, some I don’t (this may surprise them greatly!) @katemcphee @erica_davies @erikaradford @lifeofaninteriorstylist @ruthie_rooster @hubbahubster @trayslounge @sarahakwisombe @swoonworthyblog @celestebarber @me_and_orla @pennywincer @onegirlband_ – to name just a few. Who’s yours? After yesterday’s grumpy start I’m pleased to report there’s no more banging on the roof and I got up on the right side of the bed today☝️😁👍 . My little bedside table was my Grandma’s. I painted it white and stuck some artwork under the glass. I won’t show you a close up as my essential oils dropped onto the paint and melted into it so needs some TLC! . • Bloomin Lovely • I’m still not quite sure what to do with this room. Do I go pink or yellow accents? Do I paint the wall white, pink or keep it grey? How many cushions is too many on the bed? Do I just stop overthinking everything and go out and get a life?? 🤔🤔🤣 . . . . . #wallpaper #wallpapermural #mural #wallmural #onthewall #flowers #flowerstagram #flowermural #howihome #thisishome #embracingtheseasons #designsponge #bohostyle #bohodecor #bohemianstyle #finditstyleit #pursuepretty #aquietstyle #theeverygirl #abmlifeisbeautiful #dslooking #vogueliving #marieclairemaison #interiorinspo #bedroom #bedroominterior #bedroomdecor #bedroomdesign #solebich #interiorinspirasjon

SIGNS OF SPRING… . How much pink is too much? Can you have too much pink? I’m thinking of bringing some into the spare room, maybe some panelling around the desk? Maybe a pink ceiling? Spring always make me want to decorate and freshen things up, how about you? Any exciting plans for your home? . If you love pink – then you’ll want to give Charlotte’s instagram a follow. She has just moved into a new home, and is slowly decorating every corner in Farrow & Ball shades.

I love her art selection alone.

My Kind Of Habitat

I was luckily enough to get the grand tour of Edwina’s home in October – and I can tell you it is lush from top-to-bottom!

Her bedroom is my favourite room with it’s dark green walls and botanical prints on the walls (wrapping paper that she has framed).

You’ll love her insa famous bathroom for sure. Worth a follow as she is about to update her kitchen and garden so you’ll be able to steal lots of ideas.

• Assisting at Good Homes Mag • Here is a little cheeky snap of the image I finished off on the @goodhomesmag shoot. If you look super close you can see @jess_taverner in on of the frames ☺️ Working on shoots is my favourite thing ever but my gawd there was slot of stuff going on behind this picture. Boxes of props, a bed, people all crammed in to get “the shot.” Next time I’m on a shoot like this I will try to show you the chaos behind the lens. I’m off to Tesco’s again today and then going to @sarabandefoundation to see an exhibition. Will post in Stories last. What are you lot up to? . . . . . . #interiorstyling #onset #stylist #interiors #stylistassistant #magazine #editorial

Awh – I love River and her strong sense of style. She is passionate about textures, warm colours and vintage buys. She picked up a rattan rug from a junk shop for just £30!

River is a such a creative spirit. She has transformed a Brighton warehouse studio into a stylish Brighton retreat in her natural colour pallet. Follow her for easy updates, especially if you live in a rented home.

Foodie Eshe

Brighton is well known for it’s many vintage shops.

Her stories are the first thing I check on Instagram each morning as she is so down-to-earth funny. Follow her if you love rust tones, pampas grass and belly ache laughs.

Mad About The Boys

View this post on Instagram

Rolling into this week a tad differently to last week. I’ve just ordered some merino wool base layers from @lovemysmalls Their new collection is out and my kids love wearing Smalls underneath their clothes and on their own. I used to work with Cat (one of the two founders) in London when doing some interiors styling for Next Home. The photo is taken by @danballphotography who I also worked with at Next. If you need base layers for the kids or product photography doing then check out @lovemysmalls and @danballphotography I’ve also just ordered another “Lucky” tshirt and shorts from @scampanddude fir the four year old who pretty much refused to wear anything else. When the top is in the wash it causes meltdown (that was interesting in Sri Lanka when it went to laundry 😂). It makes sense to get another one! I love supporting independent businesses and these are some of my favourites. 🙌

A post shared by Kate Peers (@madabouttheboys) on

Kate’s feed is full of beautiful snapshots of Brighton. She captures the painted rainbow on the seafront, sunsets on the South Downs as well as corners of her home.

We love the way she captures the true spirit of Brighton. And her cute boys make the perfect models on Brighton beach.

Do you have loads of leftover tiles after your renovation? I did some research for my project with @wearesunnyuk looking at ways I could upcycle and make use of old tiles I didn't need anymore to turn them into something practical on a budget and it's amazing how many ideas came up! Have a look at my insta stories to see what I did with these 3 simple materials and how I turned my unwanted tiles into something kinda unique 👍🏻 . . Obviously I have already put aside a pile of tiles for 'just in case a tile cracks' that will forever collect dust in my loft until they're one day needed 😂 (which will obviously be the day after I chuck them!) . . #UpForUpcycling #spon . #howyouhome #handmadewithlove #createmakeshare #creativelifehappylife #flashesofdelight #documentyourdays #upcycling #makersgonnamake #makersmovement #homeideas #howihue #howyouhome

And finally, Fiona is one of the first people I met in real life from instagram from Brighton.

She has been renovating her 1930s home most weekends, taking breaks to explore the Sussex countryside. Her feed is about the countryside of

Brighton with lots of tips on where to shop for your home for that rustic country look.

Have you enjoyed these Brighton Instagram accounts?

There you go! A little insight into the Brighton instagram accounts that make this city a wonderful place to live in. Give each account a follow and you’ll explore Brighton through their eyes, living like a (very stylish) local.

Are you now feeling inspired to visit Brighton? Then why not pop down on the train. It’s cheap as chips. Southern Rail offer off-peak tickets so that you can explore Brighton yourself for next to nothing. My tip? Come down mid week when the streets are buzzing with locals. Grab a Small Batch coffee, take photos of the graffitti, and breath in that sea air.

If you want to discover more Brighton interior influencers, then I have set up a dedicated Pinterest group and a hashtag called #BrightBlogGang. Give them both a follow for more home design fun.
